It's that time of the week when we post a mixed bag of intriguing costumes we've spotted recently. Some of it's new; some of it isn't; all of it is worth highlighting.

The littlest Doctor made the room a little dusty.
What is the point of this? I know you could say the same thing about football, but $/physical activity is a pretty good response to that so what gives?
It makes them happy, and hurts no one. Why question it?
Most hobbies seem pointless if you’re not into them. 15 years ago, you could have told me I was wasting money on art supplies and was wasting money buying used books for spare change when libraries are free. Then I started side businesses selling paintings and used books, graduating college with no debt. 5 years ago, you could have said my writing hobby was pointless; now it’s my main source of income. Cosplayers learn how to design and make things for themselves, which is both an employable skill and builds self-efficacy. And it’s a source of entertainment for them, so what does it matter if it leads to a job anyway?
Spoken like a man who has never seen Stormtrooper Elvis.
I’ve only done cosplay once and it was the wood guardians from Tenchi Muyo. I had two business partners at the time. One was a girl who really wanted to do the whole thing. The other was an older guy who…well some of the people who had seen him go at this before pulled me aside and told me what he’s like when it comes to this. A control freak. So while she did her whole thing, making the two princess costumes (one for her, one for the guy’s niece), I got to control the control freak. It wasn’t easy. He flipped out half a dozen times and gave up so I took over with some pretty simple, cheap ideas that it turned out worked. If we could have cut out the bickering, we might have had time to work out a cooling system so the four guys that wore it (including me, but not him. He never intended to and he was too tall in the first place) had to trade off and explain to far too many people that we weren’t hyperventilating from all the girls in skimpy clothes.
It was worth it.
When I wasn’t stuck in that thing I wore a duster, a wide brim hat, sunglasses and fingerless gloves. Everyone congratulated me on my Vampire Hunter D costume. I was too exhausted to explain Guilty Gear so I just rolled with the compliments.
Man, how can you even ask that on the week with the little ‘Doctor Who’? Look how happy he is- that’s why.
Wow, this week is chock full of awesomeness.
Lady Bane can break me any day, amirite?
