French model-cum-actor Eva Green will be playing Ava Lord, the titular dame to kill for in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. She’s probably best known for playing Vesper in Casino Royale or for her role in Dark Shadows. (I can’t believe the opening sentence of this post includes both cum-actor and titular. GRRR, BLOGGING.)

I am shocked — shocked — that Frank Miller would describe a female character in extremely dichotomous terms invoking a Madonna–whore complex.
Meanwhile, up-and-comer Julia Garner will be playing Marcy, a stripper (of course) who is connected to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Johnny character. Garner reportedly stole the show as a Mormon teenager in Electrick Children.
It would be awesome if her character in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is actually the grown-up version of the religious teen she played in Electrick Children.

I remember her from a film called “The Dreamers” which I caught during some late-night channel-hopping haze. The bits I saw made no sense whatsoever but she was all sorts of naked in it.

Eva Green is one of those women who’s gorgeous in motion on film but often looks kinda weird in still shots. She’s also a very good actress, and she’ll probably do a good job with this role. And I don’t know who Julia Garner is but that’s a pretty picture.
