The Makers Of ‘Juno’ Almost Made A Hipstery Indie X-Men Movie

Ellen Page superhero movie huh? Could work.

In 2006 Ellen Page appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand as Kitty Pryde, then in 2007 she starred in breakout indie hit Juno. Well, apparently somebody at Fox thought the X-Men and burger phone universes needed to be combined.

According to Juno director Jason Reitman, Fox wanted him to direct a stand-alone Kitty Pryde movie. The plan was to have Ellen Page star and Diablo Cody write the script. What, no Michael Cera as Colossus?

Huh. For the record this news came out Saturday, so I’m pretty sure it isn’t an April Fools’ gag. I actually kinda wish this movie existed. Sure, it’s easy to make fun of Juno’s “this ain’t no Etch-a-Sketch” dialogue, but it was actually a good movie, and everything Jason Reitman has done has been good, and Ellen Page in cute superhero outfits and yeah — is it too late to make this happen?
