‘Deus Ex: The Fall’ Will Apparently Be At E3

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a surprisingly good game courtesy of Eidos Montreal, one that offered a strong mix of gameplay choices. So it’s good news that a new one is on the way. Especially with the tantalizing title of Deus Ex: The Fall.

Eidos basically stopped just short of saying “Yeah, we’re totally showing the new one off at E3”:

Coming so soon after locking down a bunch of websites under the same title, which is the new way of announcing a game without announcing a game, we’re guessing that we’ll be seeing some of this game, at least a trailer, sometime next week. If you haven’t played the original game, Daedalus and Icarus were the two artificial intelligences that you dealt with in the course of playing, and Human Revolution had the myth as an overall theme. Considering that Human Revolution was a prequel, and the game opened with and ended by showing off the first game’s antagonist Bob Page, it seems likely we’ll be finding out just what went into their creation.

We’ll be curious to see what, if any, tweaks went into the game itself. Human Revolution was pretty close to perfect: It took cheesy tropes like regenerating health and did them right, and it was one of the rare games that had you constantly poking around the hub levels looking for new rooms to hack, hiding little stories amid the overall chaos of the plot. In short, a great game is getting what will hopefully be a better sequel. Now to see if we have to buy a next-gen console to play it, and also to see if Adam Jensen continues his walk on the path of peace.
