The Movement is a new superteam built on fighting economic inequality and corrupt power structures. The problem, of course, is that those two things tend to have a lot of boots behind them.
Gail Simone’s take on this concept has been interesting, to say this least. It feels a bit like a comic from the ’90s, attempting to mix superheroics and social concerns. Whether something as fundamentally broad as a team of teen superheroes can be married to specific problems in the real world is an open question, but Simone and Williams are doing a good job of it.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that said heroes aren’t going to occasionally lose…
