Stephanie Brown Gets Another Chance In The Pages Of ‘Batman Eternal’

So, 2014 is going to see the release of Batman Eternal, a new weekly series mostly focused on Batman’s allies. As borderline bloated as Gotham’s supporting cast is, that’s still a lot of issues to fill — thankfully DC is bringing back a fan favorite to help fill out those pages. Yes, the controversial Stephanie Brown will be making her New 52 debut in the pages of Batman Eternal.

Stephanie Brown started out as The Spoiler, and then was briefly the first female Robin before she was fired by Batman, accidentally set off a gang war, and was tortured to death by Black Mask. Her death was never memorialized like Jason Todd’s, which DC explained away by saying she was never really Robin to begin with. But hey, it turns out she was actually alive, and she got a well-liked stint as Batgirl, before Barbara Gordon returned to the role and DC once again made like Stephanie never existed.

So yeah, poor Stephanie. But hey, she’s coming back in issue #3 of Batman Eternal next year, and hopefully Scott Snyder and friends will handle her a little better. Personally I’ve always been more of a Cassandra Cain/Black Bat fan. When’s she coming back?
