Casting Moves Forward On ‘Fantastic Four’, Including A Female Doctor Doom?

Casting for Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot is getting more serious, as Heat Vision reports the names of several actors who have recently screen tested for the lead roles.

Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Emmy Rossum (Shameless) tested for Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman.

Christian Cook tested for Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Confirming earlier rumors, Miles Teller tested for Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. Teller is probably best known for roles in The Spectacular Now and Whiplash and for looking like Rachel Maddow.

Heat Vision also confirms that Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle, Fruitvale Station) is already attached to Fantastic Four as The Human Torch. His casting was part of an option exercised by Fox from Jordan’s contract on Chronicle, which was also directed by Josh Trank.

Considering how angry people can get over little things like Coke ads, we can already imagine the stupid racist tweets that are going to come from Jordan’s casting as a white girl’s brother. We believe Vince already explained this best when he said, “If a black guy playing The Human Torch is something that legitimately troubles you, I’m going to wedgie you with your own Klan robes, you tumbling, tumbling dickweed.”

In other news sure to enrage tumbling dickweeds, the villain will be Doctor Doom, and Fox is reportedly “likely to go for a big name and isn’t ruling out switching genders for the role”

A female Doctor Doom you say? Is it too late to suggest Ivy Doomkitty? We would have used that picture at the top of this post if we’d had permission.
