Scarlett Johansson Does Drugs, Gets Superpowers In The Awesome First Trailer For 'Lucy'

You know how people told you to say no to drugs? THEY WERE WRONG. But enough about our plans for the weekend, here’s the first trailer for Lucy, starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman. It comes from Luc Besson, director of La Femme Nikita, The Professional, The Fifth Element, and like those other movies Lucy stars a young woman being wickedly badass.

Scarlett Johansson stars as the titular Lucy, a regular woman who is kidnapped and made an unwilling drug mule. When one of the bags full of mysterious chemicals breaks, she starts using “more than 10% of her brain” — which is based on a total myth, but oh well — and develops superpowers. Morgan Freeman plays the neuroscientist who acts as a mentor as she becomes a supergenius who can move things with her mind, change her appearance at will, and be impervious to pain.

Like we said last time we covered this movie, doing massive quantities of drugs isn’t all bad! Sometimes you get superpowers like “not feeling pain” or “forgetting there’s a hot pocket in the microwave” or “spontaneous nosebleeds” or “time travel” (AKA blackouts). If you’re Scarlett Johansson, you also get telekinesis and the power to be insanely hot.

Seriously though, I will watch anything Luc Besson does. This looks awesome.
