300 Phoenix Police Officers Attended Kindergarten Graduation Of Fallen Officer’s Daughter

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.23.13

In the early hours of May 19, Phoenix police officer Daryl Raetz and his partner were finishing up at the scene of a suspected DUI, when another car struck Raetz, who died shortly after being transported to a hospital. The 29-year old had served Phoenix for six years before this tragic night, and he left behind a wife and young daughter.

Yesterday, as 5-year old Tatum Raetz graduated from kindergarten, the officers in her father’s squad and precinct had quietly planned to attend and remind the girl that while her father may be gone, they are all still watching out for her. But secrets are a hard thing to keep in the workplace, and soon word spread throughout the entire police department, until almost 300 officers arrived to support Tatum on her big day.

It’s The Great GIF Debate Explained In Song Form

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.23.13

Many years from now, several dozen students will shuffle into a classroom and take their seats before their hologram teacher appears and begins giving that day’s lesson plan, brought to them by the Taco Bell and Geico Department of Education. Holo-Teach 3000 will instruct them to open their iTextbooks and turn to the chapter on American history that documents meaningless things that we wasted a lot of time on.

Here Is Ken Cosgrove Dancing On Last Sunday’s ‘Mad Men’ Set To Daft Punk’s ‘Doin’ It Right’

Written by The Cajun Boy / 05.23.13

You can tell a holiday weekend is right around the corner because people are dicking off left and right making videos like the Daft Punk/Soul Train mashup we posted earlier. And now this: video of Ken Cosgrove dancing on Sunday’s bizarre episode of Mad Men — which by the way is starting to make a little more sense — set to Daft Punk’s “Doin’ It Right.” It’s simply outstanding. Enjoy!

Speaking of Ken Cosgrove’s little jig, Aaron Staton, the actor who plays Ken, talked to the New York Times about it.

Florida Or Ohio?: Man Butt Dials 911, Unwittingly Details His Murder Plans To Operator

Written by The Cajun Boy / 05.23.13

Well of course it’s Florida. It’s almost always Florida!

Scott Simon was arrested Tuesday night for the murder of 33-year-old Nicholas Walker, who was shot while driving his car onto I-95.

It was a butt-dialing blunder that led police to the man they say orchestrated the fatal shooting. Now they’re looking for his co-conspirators.

In the accidental phone call to 911, Simon is recorded telling someone else that he’s going to follow the victim home and kill him.

According to reports, Simon coordinated the shooting after an argument with Walker at a nearby Waffle House.

Sorry, Ohio, you are not only not in the same league as Florida, you’re not even playing the same sport. Step it up, Buckeyes!

Meet Your New Favorite Puppy: A Blind Golden Retriever Named Ray Charles

Written by Josh Kurp / 05.23.13

WHAT. Are you telling me that there’s an adorable blind golden retriever out there named Ray Charles?

Hi! Im Ray Charles a golden retriever that was born blind on December 8, 2012. I am one of 5 puppies that survived in the litter my mom had, and the only male. I wasn’t running around and playing with my
sisters as I should have been and my breeder didn’t know why, so she took me to the vet and found out I was born blind. My life then became a waiting game as to if I was ever going to find a home or not. Luckily my dad
found out about me before it was too late, and saved my life! I now live in Boston Massachusetts in an awesome house and have 2 big brothers Harley and Jack and a big sister Maggie! I can run, jump, and play just like any other dog that can see does, so don’t feel sorry for me!

I love to make people happpy and smile and bring joy to everyone around me! (Via)

That’s exactly what I’m telling you. Brb, working on a “Georgia on My Mind” parody called “Puppy on My Mind.”

‘Beer Of Thrones’ Is The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Meets Beer Commercial Parody The Internet Deserves

Written by Maske / 05.23.13

Between the impending holiday and something going on with Netflix this weekend that I can’t seem to remember at the moment, I’m not sure YouTube picked the best week to feature their YouTube Comedy Week, but that withstanding there is absolutely no denying the awesomeness that is this “Beer of Thrones” Game of Thrones-beer ad parody by Comediva.

The premise is brilliantly simple: some friends bring a sixer of “Beer of Thrones” over to a party and everyone suddenly starts turning all Westeros on each other. But the next level comedy is in the details. Me typing words doesn’t do it justice so just click play below and thank YouTube Comedy Week later.

Charles Ramsey Will Never Have To Pay For A Burger Again

Written by The Cajun Boy / 05.23.13

When we last checked in on everyman hero Charles Ramsey, some guy was getting the face of the most famous man in Cleveland tattooed on his leg. So what’s our pal doing these days? Well, probably eating a free cheeseburger, and, well, good for him.

As you may recall, McDonald’s promised to get in touch with Ramsey, but has yet to follow through. So a number of Ohio-area restaurants stepped up to make sure Ramsey gets all the cheeseburgers he wants to eat without having to pay a dime.

Watch Two Grown Men Reenact A Conversation Between A Father And His Two-Year-Old Daughter

Written by Josh Kurp / 05.23.13

What could be creepy and the plot of the next found footage horror movie ends up being, well, creepy and the plot of the next found footage horror movie when filmmaker Matthew Clarke and David Milchard reenacted an actual conversation Clarke had with his two-year-old daughter, Coco. Little kids can get away with being protective brats who trap their parents into pretending they’re princesses. When a grown ass man with a beard does the same thing, it’s time to call the cops. It’s going to be tough for Clarke to explain to Coco that “no no, honey, I didn’t think you’d look like a 30-something man when you grew up.” But that’s a problem for Future Clarke. Don’t envy that guy.
