The Obama Administration have made it clear that they aren’t afraid of the internet, engaging citizens through Twitter and Facebook. A couple days ago Obama basically threw up his hands regarding the debt ceiling grandstanding and said you try talking to these people. Then he put on flannel jammies and ate an entire pint of ice cream in bed while tweeting about fiscal policies in his digital burn book (at least this is how we’re picturing it).
Twitter user David Wiggs responded to some of these tweets with, “This WH correspondence briefing isn’t nearly as entertaining as yesterday’s.” Worst. Briefing. Ever. Someone whining on Twitter doesn’t warrant much ink, but the White House official Twitter account replied to him with an apology and a link. The link went to this:

We just got rickrolled by the White House. It’s still the least stupid thing anyone in Washington has done lately.

Obama and his staff like, totally get my generation. He likes all the same stuff I do: March Madness, vacations, smoking, Twitter, watching internet videos. He’s so trendy and just like, totally gets what I’m all about. That’s why I voted for him. And that’s why I’ll vote for him again.
When I tell some people that they’re all like “Why would you vote for THAT guy again?” and I’m all like, “Dude, don’t you watch the Daily Show? He, like, totally handled Libya perfectly. Not to mention his Health Care plan helps sooooo many people that are like poor and shit. Don’t you care about poor people you wealthy pig? Gah, you are such a redneck, fox news watching, ignoramus. You have no pulse on what is REALLY good for the country.”
Sure those people may run their own small business and it may profit a good bit money and may employ plenty of people but my response is like, “BFD dude, I got my liberal arts degree from Pacific Union and I know all about the “free market”. I may be working at Urban Outfitters but at least I understand social injustices.”
