The Eiffel Tower Is Basically The World’s Largest Lightning Rod

The photo above has been buzzing around the web the past couple of hours. And for good reason — it’s got a certain, “HOLY CRAP MILDRED THEM FRENCHIES ARE GONNA FRY LIKE CHICKENS!” feeling to it, doesn’t it. I have to say, if I were going to die by lightning strike, dying on the blue-lit Eiffel Tower during a summer rainstorm in Paris would be right up there, just below dying by lightning strike on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

According to the BBC, the photo was taken in July by amateur photographer Bertrand Kulik and will appear in an exhibition titled “Lumieres celestes, lumieres des hommes,” in Issy L’eveque, Burgundy.
