The ‘Daily Show’ Blasts Media Coverage Of The Trayvon Martin Case

I’ve made this point previously, but each and every time Jon Stewart and his Daily Show staff take vacation — which is frequently — something HUGE happens, and then they’re not around to provide comic relief on the huge thing that happened. Not surprisingly, the show took last week off and the Trayvon Martin case blew up, culminating in Geraldo blaming the tragedy on Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Bilichick’s garment of choice.

Now, it’s certainly hard to find humor in such a horrible tragedy — everything about the case is just depressing as all hell — but, like Geraldo, there are people who work in cable news who are all too susceptible to making fools of themselves in the course of trying to fill 24 hours each day. Let their mocking commence!
