As you may have heard, Mitt Romney is touring the world right now like a filthy rich version of Clark Griswold, showing the international community exactly what they’ll be getting in the event he’s elected president this November. His first stop was in England yesterday, where he, ugh, “charmed” the Brits with his overwhelming Anglo-Saxonness.
Mitt Romney handed Barack Obama a potential gift for the US presidential election campaign when the presumptive Republican nominee blundered on his first diplomatic outing by questioning whether London was capable of staging a successful Olympic Games.
In a move that astonished Downing Street, hours before it laid on a special reception for Romney at No 10, he told NBC there were “disconcerting” signs about the preparations for the Games. One senior Whitehall source said: “What a total shocker. We are speechless.”
David Cameron wasted no time in rebuking Romney hours after his remarks were broadcast. On a visit to the Olympic Park, the prime minister said: “We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities in the world. Of course it’s easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere.”
HAHAHA…Mitt Romney is — in addition to being Griswold-esque — America’s version of Borat. I hope he also asked the Queen if he could “make a shit” in Buckingham Palace while he’s there.
Anyway, Colbert had some fun with this last night. Enjoy.

It scares me to think that this man could possibly be the next president of the United States. My parents, during a dinner conversation a few nights ago BOTH came out and said they would rather/will support this fool over Obama. Needless to say, my neck became tired from shaking my head so damn much at their inability to read between the lines when it comes to politicians and their political motives. If he is elected, well, “You better baton down the hatches Mr. Wayne, because there’s a storm coming…”
Don’t worry, he won’t be elected and it’ll have nothing to do with his politics. That’s the thing about Mitt, he has no understanding of diplomacy. There has never been a moment in his life where he’s said something asinine or hurtful to somebody and gotten totally destroyed for it. As a result he doesn’t have a filter.
He doesn’t give a shit and it extends to his campaign. Mark my words, he’ll crash his entire campaign by the convention. My money is on the campaign failing their SAN check and hiring a child molester.
Dan, I hope you’re right. I feel like you need to be reminded, however, that Bush 2 made it into the White House. Twice.
Never give credit to American voters.
