Yesterday I found it amusing when Frank Ocean posted the following about Fox News on Twitter: “fox news is entertaining…they put little kids from a lemonade stand on tv to bash obama.”
In the post, I guessed that Ocean had to have been watching Fox & Friends, the propaganda machine’s morning chat-fest staffed by rotting garden vegetables and failed circus clowns. Well, I was right.
Take it away, Jon Stewart…
It’s in two parts, the first of which sets up the second…

I still can’t believe Fox News exists, says Canadian person
I still can’t believe people find their programming relevant and factual, says a very concerned American person.
I don’t worry about Fox News too much. Know why? John Stewart. Stephen Colbert.
Fox is preaching to the choir. People don’t watch Fox news to learn things, they watch Fox News to be handed a new reason to be outraged at people they’re already against.
Similarly, Colbert & Stewart pick apart the arguments and get people motivated in much the other direction.
The day that Fox stops doing things like this is the day that we no longer need Stewart and Colbert.
Fox News is low hanging fruit, for sure, but there’s plenty of stupidity in our elected leaders to keep the Daily Show and Colbert Report running long after Fox News is gone.
I like the way the edited footage has Obama disintegrate into little bubbles… like the guards in The Lawnmower Man. Thank you, FAUX News, for reminding me just how inexplicably awful that movie truly was.
Homo_Erectus, your point that Fox viewers don’t watch Fox to learn things is proven by the recent study that found Fox viewers LESS informed than people who watch no news at all. Sigh.
