When I heard that the Daily Show would be traveling down to Tampa to cover the Republican convention I immediately became giddy with excitement over the barrage of Florida jokes sure to come. And last night the show wasted no time getting right to it, comparing the Tampa metro area to “a subway platform in Haiti” whose beaten down residents spend their days “trying desperately to protect whatever rat-urine soaked meth lab equipment they still own.” Of course, this is all Blackie McMuslim’s fault: “Tampa is a perfect symbol of what Obama has done to America,” said John Oliver.
Naturally, a part of the segment features Jason Jones in a strip club, because Florida. Enjoy.

Who am I kidding, of course they will. Here are the tired tropes they’ll run out there for the DNC: Southerners and racism, fried foods, poverty, illiteracy, fat people, rednecks, nascar.
