Ice Cube Takes You On An Architectural Tour Of Los Angeles

Did you know that Ice Cube studied architectural drafting prior to becoming a rapper? Neither did I! But apparently he did, and it’s led to this absolutely wonderful video of the Cube driving around Los Angeles giving thoughts on the city’s structures, with particular emphasis on the Eames House. The whole thing is chock full of the kind of great quotes delivered with rhetorical flair that can only come from a rapper pontificating on architecture.

“One man’s eyesore is another man’s paradise.”

“The 405, that’s bourgie traffic right there. The 110 — haha — that’s gangsta traffic.”

“They was doing mashups before mashups even existed.”

“This is going green 1949 style, bitch. Belie-dat.”

See what I mean! The wonderful video is after the jump.
