When the lineup for Coachella 2012 (the tickets for which just went on sale, btw) was announced, I meant to post about it but then forgot and then the next day was all, “Well the lineup for this year’s Jazz Fest is better anyway.” In truth, I have a anti-Coachella bias. There, I said it. I think the whole thing is waaay overrated and yes, I think Jazz Fest in New Orleans blows it away. Of course, I’m biased, but deal with it.
Still, this year’s lineup is pretty stellar, stellar enough that I’m tempted to give it another shot. However, a fake Coachella lineup has popped up on the web that sort of blows away the real one. And by sort of blows it away, I mean it REALLY blows it away.
For comparison purposes, large versions of both are after the jump…

A tip of the cap to the genius who made the fake. A work of true art, it is.

Biased or not, I’d have to agree that Jazz Fest lineups ALWAYS blow away Coachella. To be fair though, that’s what ya get in a 2 weekend (and awesome unofficial week between) fest vs a weekend. I do take issue with the Black Key’s being included with the talentless fucks on this poster though. There simple, but there is awesomeness to be had in simple.
Honestly though, Coachella’s overrated. Out of the 5000 bands I see there, about nine catch my eye, and they’re all spread out across different days. My friend went the year McCartney played and was stoked because Mike Patton was playing too…on the side stage the same time as McCartney took the main. I respect that my boy went to the side stage.
The best band on the poster is actually Pulp.
I’ve never heard of this festival. Was this the one that Lindsay Lohan was at last year and was caught with some white powder she was putting on her teeth that she later said wasn’t drugs? Also, since this is a music festival (Apparently. I don’t see any actual musicians on the actual promo poster), what does “coachella” mean, anyway?
Refused is playing Coachella and, as such, that makes Coachella the superior show.
