It’s impossible to cover each bit of new music that comes out during the week, so every Friday, we’ll be doing an end of the week music roundup. It’s called Final Track, and we’ll count off a few songs released during the week that are worth giving a listen to.
Today, we've got selections from Missy Elliott, Bat for Lashes, and a cat singing Collective Soul.

After four years away, 90 seconds of Missy Elliott feels like getting a treat from God, Buddha, or whomever you idolize him/herself.
“Great Round Burn” by Kaki King
This track, from guitar virtuosos Kaki King, should score The Hobbit, instead of whatever melodramatic mush Peter Jackson has chosen instead.
“Tick, Tock” by Pusha T, Raekwon, and Joell Ortiz
Straight from the soundtrack of RZA's highly anticipated martial arts film The Man With the Iron Fists.
“Marilyn” by Bat for Lashes
Bat for Lashes unveils the second single from her upcoming album, The Haunted Man, and it burns as brightly as the actress it's named after. "Holding you, I'm touching a star" is gonna be written on a lot of Facebook posts this fall.
“Union” by Teen Daze w/ Frankie Rose
An old school doo-wop song buried under mounds of organs and wobbly feedback.
"New God Flow" by Kanye West, Pusha T, and Ghostface Killah

Good stuff as always. Still can’t get on board with Bat For Lashes, though. Can I make a suggestion? I can? Okay, thanks. Check out the video for “Last Year” by Goodwolf at [vimeo.com] Also, those are not stunt cornflakes that he eats in the video. That’s really malt liquor.
I’m sure it’ll be addressed in Tuesday’s Cruel Summer blurb, but they added a Ghostface verse to New God Flow, making a good song better.
Well, apparently I was blind. Whatever, that track deserves multiple mentions.
Whoaaa….heaven let your laser pointer shine down.
It’s totally worth skipping through the first 2 awful verses of New God Flow just to get to GFK’s gem. Some mighty healthy bars.
