Good Riddance: Psy Says He’s Retiring ‘Gangnam Style’ Tonight

The Lord giveth a Kimye Hell baby, the Lord taketh away Psy’s played out Hell song, “Gangnam Style.”

That’s the word on the street, anyway, after Psy essentially admitted himself in an interview with MTV that even he is sick of the stubbornly ubiquitous “Gangnam Style” and is considering not performing it ever again.

“Being in Times Square on New Year’s Eve is already special — it’s the biggest stage in the universe — plus it’s my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of ‘Gangnam Style,’” Psy told MTV News. “I mean, what better way to do it? It’s my biggest and most meaningful birthday.”

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed. And may everyone who’s ever engaged in the dumb “Gangnam Style” horsey dance look back in horror at it years from now in the same way that anyone who ever did the “Macarena” in the 90s looks back in horror on that cultural abortion today.

Thanks for the awful memories we can never unforget, Psy.
