Haha, don’t worry: “Don’t Stop Believin’” is #9. No, the shocking choice for the most-played karaoke song of 2012, according to Lucky Voice, isn’t that shocking at all: it’s Adele, whose “Somebody Like You” accounted for “7.4% of all plays” on the website. That’s 2% higher than runner-up “Call Me Maybe” and nearly 6% higher than Journey’s 1.7% It’s unknown how many people played Nicole Westbrook, but it’s not high enough.
1. ‘Someone Like You’ – Adele (7.4 per cent)
2. ‘Call Me Maybe’ – Carly Rae Jepsen (5.4 per cent)
3. ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ – One Direction (4.2 per cent)
4. ‘Rolling In The Deep’ – Adele (4.1 per cent)
5. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – Queen (3.7 per cent)
6. ‘Make You Feel My Love’ – Adele (3.6 per cent)
7. ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ – Bon Jovi (2.7 per cent)
8. ‘Sexy And I Know It’ – LMFAO (2.4 per cent)
9. ‘Don’t Stop Believin” – Journey (1.7 per cent)
10. ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ – Gotye feat Kimbra (1.6 per cent) (Via)
And for the 21st year in a row, “Excursions” by A Tribe Called Quest has been denied its rightful spot in the top-10. Someday, people. (Also, pretty sure this is the only year-end popular music list that doesn’t mention “Gangnam Style.” Savor it.)

The psycho stalker song is number one? My balls crawl up into my body for protection when Adele hits certain notes in that song.
Josh K knows the importance of a Skypager.
Everything is fair when you’re living in the city.
I see “Someone Like You” and I STILL think Rod Stewart.
I call bullshit. Every Karaoke joint I’ve ever been to has at least three drunk middle aged women slur their way through “Black Velvet.”
As a former karaoke host, I am SHOCKED that Paradise By the Dashboard Light isn’t on here.
For the past 3-4 years now I’ve been talking about a new idea called “retirment from public airwaves”. No longer shall a song be played on the radio, used in tv shows, movies, or trailers. Nor can they be played in bars or clubs. If you wanna hear Journey or bon Jovi, you buy the album and listen to it at home, in your car, or on your damn headphones.
I worked the holiday season (3 months) at best buy 3 years ago. I have heard “Don’t Stop Believing”, and “Living on a Prayer” more times than the people who go out partying 4 nights a week and hear those songs every time.
Oh, and Journey is still a good band. Bon Jovi however, should die in a plane crash like Denis Leary suggested.
if this list was “dissident’s most played karaoke songs of 2012″ it would just be a bunch of ironically performed Creed songs.
I assume a Drowning Pool song thrown in there, too?
my Eddie Vedder impression doesn’t work for Drowning People. but it works perfectly for Creed.
Livin on a Prayer beat out Wanted Dead or Alive?
I call bullshit.
I’m shocked that Call Me Maybe isn’t number one.
Tragedy.
When the feeling’s gone and you can’t go on.
