Here’s how highly I think of this new Sigur Rós video/short film: I meant to post it earlier today, got busy with other stuff and forgot to post it, went out to run some errands, realized I’d forgotten to post it, and then came home specifically to post it. It’s THAT good. It features two somewhat familiar faces, Elle Fanning and John Hawkes (of Deadwood and Eastbound and Down fame), and they’re both outstanding in this.
Now sit back and enjoy this musical tale of a ballet dancer and her father. The ending will blow your mind.

Holy shit…
I dont get it, was this 2deep4me? I mean did that dude just get reborn or was he just a baby imagining himself as an older dude dying in the desert? Can someone explain to me what the hell this video is about?
The answer: Jesus.
I don’t even know what the hell I just watched, and why it brought tears to my eyes. Powerful, despite me being too stupid to get it.
That’s basically Sigur Ros in a nutshell: don’t know what the hell just happened, but you know you liked it.
Seconded.
So, it’s a Sigur Ros song, featuring a self-destructive Sean Penn lookalike and a clubbing ballet-pixie dancing, drinking and shambling in dust soaked Americana, chanelling Terrance Malick with voice-over.
Pretty much pushed all my buttons. I’m going to avoid thinking about it too much as I suspect it may fall apart under examination, but it hit my heart and made me cry, and that’s plenty enough for now.
I can’t come up with something pithy to say. That was beautiful.
That’s an UPROXX first. Congrats!
wtf and why am I crying?
1. that’s some serious desolation.
2. it’s got to be hard to run in those hooker shoes.
3. This one was better ([www.youtube.com])
