We here at UPROXX headquarters are firm believers in vertical videos being the worst thing ever and try not to link to them…with rare exceptions. This is one of them: a four-member wedding band, hired to play unassuming bossa nova standards, break into the smoothest and sneakiest cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” ever.
Where does it rank in the pantheon of “Sandman” covers”? It’s better than Pat Boone‘s and Reel Big Fish‘s versions, though not as great as Motörhead‘s. Then again, few things are.

Welcome to James Hetfield’s newest nightmare. Elevator music covers of heavy metal.
Lars is cool with it.
I am picturing Uproxx HQ as the Denny’s near my apartment that’s open 24 hours and has free WiFi.
You can find all kinds of awesome bossa nova covers at the iTunes. Just put in the name of the cheesiest song you can think of and somebody has covered it, generally with a hot-sounding female vocalist. I’ve bought ‘em by the dozens for chill party mixes (being old and all, we try to keep the headbanging to a minimum because most of our guests might not recover).
