Some are understandably calling hoax on this, but I think it’s for real and HOLY SH*T!!!
Shout Out Louds sent out 10 molds to press and fans with which they could make an ice copy of their new single “Blue Ice.” Fans had to pour water into the mold, let it freeze for 6+ hours and then quickly get it onto a turntable to hear the new track.
On top of everything else, “Blue Ice” is a lovely song. Enjoy.

This is cool (pardon the pun), but could something like this damage your equipment?
I was wondering the same thing. Surely it would.
Yeah, can’t be good for the turntable. Or the needle. If I did this, I’d set the turntable up on the porch on a below-freezing day. I get plenty of those this time of year.
Pff, whatever. I was playing that record when it was still water.
You may be the new Hipster Messiah. The old one obviously being Justin Vernon.
Maybe the pad they put under the ice absorbs all of the liquid?
Pretty sure it’s possible. I’ve seen records printed on paper plates before. The quality is terrible, but it works.
Someone needs to send this technology to Vanilla Ice.
