Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announce New Album Which Will Likely Win Award For 2013's Worst Album Cover

If bad album cover = bad album, then the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who today announced they will release their much-anticipated fourth album, Mosquito, on April 16th, will have trumped [CHOOSE YOUR OWN AWFUL ALBUM] for the worst piece of music ever. (I’m partial to Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music for the between-the-brackets selection.) According to Pitchfork:

Mosquito [whose artwork comes from Beomsik Shimbe Shim] was produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio and Nick Launay. One of the tracks was produced by James Murphy and features — wait for it — Dr. Octagon (aka Kool Keith). (Via)

You can see the album trailer below, as well as two (pretty great) brand new songs the band played over the weekend in California, but Mosquito is going to have to be nothing short of revelatory for it not to be forever known as, “That Album Cover with the Insect Having His Way with the Garbage Pail Kid.”
