In the last paragraph of a Gawker post on how an ignorant-ass rapper has taken Kanye West to task for being the “pioneer of this queer shit” and “lookin’ half a fag” and being the guy who “introduced the skinny jeans to the rap scene,” Rich Juzwiak wrote something that I personally found way more interesting than a virtually unknown rapper taking shots at a global superstar in a diss track: the fact that Kanye’s people may be trying to scrub the internet of pics of him wearing a kilt, which some Americans of course refer to as a skirt.
Getty confirmed that they were asked to scrub their site of the several shots of Kanye from the 12-12-12 show they hosted. They wouldn’t say why.
Interesting! But what strikes me as off about this is that Kanye wore the kilt/skirt throughout the Watch the Throne tour. Why are the images from the 12/12/12 benefit being specifically targeted? Is it solely because he’s being ripped on by this rapper, who I won’t even name here because he’s obviously a sh*thead seeking attention, for wearing a kilt/skirt at this particular event? If so, then that’s just weak. WEAK.
Memo to Kanye: if you don’t want people making fun of you for wearing a kilt/skirt, don’t wear a kilt/skirt in public. OR, you know, wear the damn kilt/skirt and just OWN IT, ala Bey-Bey…

I mean, I liked Brand Nubian in the 90s. It’s just that lots of rap back then had homophobia weaved in it. Now we got A$AP Rocky noting that most of the designers people brag about are gay and Juelz Santana admitting to wearing belts and shoes made for women because they look better.
dude was wearing the kilt throughout the entire WTT tour, overweight mid-western Americans in mini vans just saw it during the media coverage of the 12-12-12 concert. It’s really not a big deal. The fact that riccardo tisci designed the entire outfit makes it hard to hate on as well.
I like the look, but real leather kilt shall be like this: [www.heritageofscotland.com]
