Another day, another feud between a 21-year-old rapper and a recently reunited British band from the 1980s. Azealia Banks, who’s no stranger to picking fights with other musicians, and the Stone Roses (who?) both played Australia’s Future Music Festival yesterday, though one performance sounded like it went better than the other. According to Banks, through a string of angry tweets, those “old saggy white n*ggas stone roses” tried to sabotage her set and now she wishes them “nothing but excrement and death,” which, for the record, is a great album title.
And why would the Stone Roses care about Azealia Banks?
“Big apologies on behalf of the stone roses to my fans at the festival today,” she wrote. “My ex tour manager made a pact with the stone roses saying they’d sabotage my set because I fired him and they decided to check their equipment behind me during my set.” (Via)
C’mon, Stone Roses, she’s just trying to be adored.

She nearly killed her momentum with the whole “fag” controversy. She seems kind of naive. Good music though.
Jesus, want to be adored much? It’s like she’s got a little toy drum and whenever somebody makes her angry she just bangs the shit out of that motherfucker. But that’s a fool’s game, you see – It’s shiny and lustrous but illusory and worthless. It’s as though her heart is a solid rock, or made of some hard material that resists crumbling.
The complaints from this bitch just keep flowing on and on in a torrential downpour. I have this mental image… of water .. it’s… moving ever downward. it’s… I can’t think of the word right now but she’s one of those. Is it resurrection? No, it’s not that.
I was the only kid on my block to like The Stone Roses. Now it’s DW’s time to shine!

What is she more famous for in the US, her music or her twitterfueds?
I’m not from the US, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard one of her tracks, and if I did, it didn’t make much of an impression, so I didn’t bother to look up who the artist was. I only know her from all the shit she says about other people.
