It’s about goddamn time.
We’ve been teased with snippets of the Sound City Players’ Real to Reel soundtrack for months now, and although Dave Grohl’s songs with John Fogerty and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen have been nice distractions, there’s one track we’ve all been waiting for: “Mantra,” as performed by Grohl, Queen of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, and Trent Reznor. It’s finally here. It’s longer and more of an orchestral build than expected. It’s completely great.
And now you can get excited for the new Queens of the Stone Age album again.

Ohhhhh man this song is so damn good.
The beginning sounds like a remix of “Love Is Not Enough” by NIN
3 geniuses, 1 sub-par song.
The abrupt stop halfway through destroys all the momentum the song had been building up. It lost me from there on. On a positive note, those three sound really kick ass singing together.
I think it is a great track.
