It’s impossible to cover each bit of new music that comes out during the week, so every Friday, we’ll be doing an end of the week music roundup. It’s called Final Track, and we’ll count off a few songs released during the week that are worth giving a listen to. (Banner via)
Today, we've got selections from Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu, Kelis, the xx, and more.
“Q.U.E.E.N.” by Janelle Monáe ft. Erykah Badu
Couldn't think of a better title myself. Janelle Monae nabbed Erykah Badu for the first funky, strut-worthy single to The Electric Lady, her follow-up to 2010's masterful The ArchAndroid, and the two of them spend five minutes discussing how little of a f*ck they give about basically anything. Except making great music, that is.
“Together” by the xx
Another selection from The Great Gatsby soundtrack, another reason to believe Baz's movie is going to be a glorious, chilly mess of style and emotional distance. Can't wait.
“Call on Me” by Kelis
Kelis hooked up with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek to produce her so-called comeback single, one that proves she's more than "just the milkshake block lady." Her voice sounds passionate, yet hushed under the bright, snazzy, horn-blaring Afropop sounds.
“Love...Thy Will Be Done” by Jesse Ware
Here's the U.K.'s finest soulful songstress Jessie Ware covering Martika’s 1991 hit, “Love...Thy Will Be Done," a song co-written by Prince. Instant listen.
“Entertainment” by Dirty Projectors
The title track to Phoenix's new French-tastic album, "Entertainment," has already been remixed by the likes of Grizzly Bear, Dinosaur Jr., and now, the Dirty Projectors, who give the song the full Dirty Projectors treatment. We're talking looping vocals, playful, unexpected rhythms, the whole shebang.
“Show Out (Remix)” by Juicy J ft. T.I., Pimp C, and Young Jeezy

“Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” by Ryan Hemsworth
Why, yes that is the Backstreet Boys song, with a glitchy reworking. Next up for Hemsworth: O-TOWN.
