Merry Kurtmas: April 10th Is Officially Nirvana Day

It’s the new festive song that’s sure to captivate a nation: “Rockin’ around the Nirvana Day shrub, have a happy holiday/Everyone’s swaying merrily, in the new oh well whatever never mind.”

The City of Hoquiam [Washington] has made a declaration that will honor Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. April 10th, 2014 will be Nirvana Day in Hoquiam. Mayor Jack Durney talked about how the band, whose roots are from Aberdeen, has left a positive impact on all of Grays Harbor.

“They bring great honor, I think as I say, to our entire community. And I think that it’s good Kurt Cobain lived in Hoquiam for a little while, but he and Krist Novoselic are part of our community, and I think it’s good to honor our sons and their great accomplishments.” said Durney. (Via)

Dave and Krist can’t make it — maybe Chad Channing will be around for an appearance?
