Mick Jagger’s Girlfriend L’Wren Scott Found Dead After Apparent Suicide

L’Wren Scott, a model and costume designer perhaps best known for being Mick Jagger’s current girlfriend, has died after apparently committing suicide. She was found hanging from a doorknob in her New York City apartment this morning, a scarf wrapped around her neck. L’Wren Scott was 49.

Reports the Daily News:

Scott texted her assistant at 8:30 a.m. and asked that she come over, police sources said. When she arrived, she found the body and called 911.

Police did not suspect foul play, a source said, but the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine a cause of death. No suicide note was found.

The Daily News adds that Scott “designed the costumes for 1996’s ‘Diabolique,’ ‘Ocean’s Thirteen,’ ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ and ‘Shine a Light,’ Martin Scorsese’s documentary about The Rolling Stones.

According to the New York Post, the 6’3” Scott and Jagger began dating in 2001. A spokesperson for Jagger, who’s currently on tour overseas with the Rolling Stone, said that the singer is understandably “completely shocked and devastated” over her death.
