In response to the Social Security Administration releasing the list of most popular baby names of 2010, this infographic from Mother Jones’ Dave Gilson — inspired by the knowledge that pop culture fame and popularity have a direct influence on the names people give their children — dug into the data to see how much influence political fame and popularity has on the names people give their children.

Now, normally I’m not ever one to wish violence on anyone, but I really hope that any kid named “Palin” gets at least one good ass-whipping as a direct result for having that name, just so the parents can maybe feel some sense of shame.
