BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

Battlestar Galactica is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning serial drama television program created by Ronald D. Moore that first aired in a three-hour miniseries in December 2003, on Sci Fi. The series features Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated Edward James Olmos and Oscar-nominated Mary McDonnell and has garnered a wide range of critical acclaim, including Emmy nominations for its writing and directing.

Battlestar Galactica continues from the 2003 mini-series to chronicle the journey of the last surviving humans from the Twelve Colonies of Kobol after their nuclear annihilation by the Cylons. The survivors are led by President Laura Roslin and Commander William Adama in a ragtag fleet of ships with the Battlestar Galactica, an old but powerful warship, as its command ship. Pursued by Cylons intent on wiping out the remnants of the human race, the survivors travel across the galaxy looking for the fabled and long-lost thirteenth colony: Earth. (via Wikipedia)

Review: Cylons Rule in Recycled Battlestar Galactica: The Plan

via wired.com ( 105 Days ago )
Battlestar Galactica’s desperate crew members were always great recyclers. Short on replacement parts, they kept their aging spaceships humming by reusing whatever bits and pieces of technology they had lying around. The recycling continues in Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. Released Tuesday, the straight-to-DVD movie shows events from the perspective of the humanity-hating [...]

via ign.com ( 133 Days ago )
The big bundle of Battlestar Galactica DVDs which landed on our desks last week - to mark the release of the complete series - reminded us how great the show was. The acting, political undertones and dramatic intensity of BSG were all ace, but we reckon it was the shakey-cam space battles that were actually the coolest thing about the show. Alexis Denisof (using his native American accent) joined Buffy/Angel costars Eliza Dushku [...]
