CLINT EASTWOOD

Clinton "Clint" Eastwood, Jr. (born May 31, 1930) is an Academy Award-winning American actor and filmmaker.

Eastwood is best-known as an actor for his tough guy, anti-hero acting roles in action and western films, particularly in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. His performances as the laconic Man with No Name in Sergio Leone's "Dollars trilogy" of spaghetti westerns which include A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), and as Inspector Harry Callahan in the Dirty Harry films have seen him become an enduring icon of masculinity.

Eastwood has won five Academy Awards—twice each as Best Director and as producer of the Best Picture and the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award in 1995. He has also been nominated twice for Best Actor, for his performances in Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby. His recent films in particular, like Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), and his latest acting role Gran Torino (2008) as well as earlier Revisionist Western films such as High Plains Drifter (1973), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Unforgiven (1992), have all received a significant degree of critical acclaim.

Eastwood also has an interest in politics; he was elected Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, serving from 1986 to 1988. (via Wikipedia)

Is this 2009's Best Picture? Warner Brothers has debuted the official trailer for Clint Eastwood's Invictus tonight on Apple in HD. 'Invictus' One-Sheet: See the Poster Before It Wins the Oscars

via iwatchstuff.com ( 31 Days ago )
Continuing the recent trend of airbrushed-on-the-back-of-a-jacket poster design, Clint Eastwood's Nelson Mandela + rugby film now has an official poster on Yahoo. I'm hoping this style eventually evolves into more of an embroidered-on-a-jacket look, so that I can have a good pattern for embroidering Matt Damon on the back of my jean jacket.

EXCLUSIVE: Gerard Butler Discussed 'Sin City' Sequel Role With Frank Miller

via mtv.com ( 45 Days ago )
Back in 2007, Gerard Butler broke through with "300" and seemed like he had the chops, physique and charm to become some kind of a modern Sean Connery-meets-Clint Eastwood type. Sure enough, Hollywood jumped on the Butler train immediately and signed him for everything from the "Untouchables" prequel to "Gamer" to romantic flicks like “P.S. I Love You” and “The Ugly Truth.” [...]

Eastwood And Damon Glimpse The Hereafter

via latinoreview.com ( 66 Days ago )
Matt Damon and Clint Eastwood must have had a good experience filming Invictus, a film Eastwood shot in South Africa with Damon starring as ruby-player Francois Pienaar and Morgan Freeman and Nelson Mandela (apartheid, of course). When it was filming it was called The Human Factor, but I guess Invictus does sound like the cooler title. We won't get to see that film until December [...]
