DWYANE WADE

Dwyane Tyrone Wade, Jr. (born January 17, 1982) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). His nicknames include "Flash" and "D-Wade". Wade was named 2006 Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated. Despite the unorthodox spelling, Wade's first name is pronounced as Dwayne; often in print media, it is misspelled as such. Wade has established himself as one of the most well-known and popular players in the league. He had the top selling jersey in the NBA for nearly two years, as he led the NBA in jersey sales from the 2005 NBA playoffs, until the mid-point of the 2006-07 NBA season.

After entering the league with little fanfare as the fifth pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Wade has become one of the most accomplished young players in the NBA today. Having made the All-Rookie team in his first season and the All-Star team the following four seasons, Wade led the Miami Heat to their first NBA Championship in franchise history in his third pro campaign. He was named the 2006 NBA Finals MVP as he led the Heat to a 4–2 series win over the Dallas Mavericks. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Wade led the United States Men's Basketball team, commonly known as the Redeem Team, in scoring, as they captured gold medal honors in Beijing, China. (via Wikipedia)

D-Wade Is Just Too Darn Busy To Go To Court

via sportsbybrooks.com ( 66 Days ago )
In the classic novel Animal Farm, author George Orwell mockingly paints a satirical dystopian view of Communism. In particular, the book’s law that “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” mocks the Communist ruling elites’ lip service to proletarianism and equality. Americans have long despised the idea that some people are inherently [...]

By Aggrey Sam Have I mentioned I love Chicago? Being in the Windy City is already paying off for me, as evidenced by me getting some one-on-one time with Dwyane Wade recently. Wade held his annual Wade’s World Charity Weekend last weekend and while I did talk to him about some hoops-related issues pertaining to the upcoming season, he really focused on his foundation’s efforts [...]

For Dwyane Wade, New York’s a Great Place to Visit, Not to Play

Like Jason Kidd and Grant Hill before him, the Miami Heat’s star guard said he wanted no part of the Knicks, an organization with little chance of competing with the league’s elite teams.

Dwyane Wade’s New $1.7M Chicago Townhouse

via sportsbybrooks.com ( 102 Days ago )
Dwyane Wade has always embraced his hometown of Chicago. He played his college ball just up Interstate 94 in Milwaukee and he’s made his South Side roots the cornerstone of his public persona. He’s connected enough to his hometown that rumors fly every year about Wade potentially getting traded to the Bulls; it just seems to make sense to people. So, what kind of place [...]

KICKS 8: Dwyane’s World

via slamonline.com ( 108 Days ago )
Once upon a time, Dwyane Wade was overlooked, both on the court, and in the world of endorsements.  Due to the over-analysis of his game (and lack of prototypical SG height), Dwyane ended up falling to fifth in the  2003 draft, and to Converse in the sneaker department. Six years and one championship later, DWade, no longer overlooked by anyone, recently left Converse to join Brand [...]

If Miami Heat Obtain Boozer and Odom, Do They Become Contenders?

Ever since the Carlos Boozer rumors began mid-way during the 08'-09' season about a possibility of teaming up with Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat organization, I instantly bought it.I mean, I am not a Heat fan, but Boozer alongside Wade would just be a great combination, especially after watching Wade literally carry the entire Heat team onto his shoulders all season and playoff [...]
