JERRY LEWIS

Jerry Lewis (born March 16, 1926) is an American comedian, actor, producer, writer, director and singer. He is best-known for his slapstick humor on stage, screen and television, his singing ability in a string of music album recordings and his charity fund-raising telethons for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Lewis has won several awards for lifetime achievements from The American Comedy Awards, The Golden Camera, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and The Venice Film Festival, and he has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2005, he received the Governors Award of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Board of Governors, which is the highest Emmy Award presented. On February 22, 2009, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Lewis the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. As a film innovator, Lewis is credited with inventing the video assist system.

Lewis was originally paired up with Dean Martin in 1946, forming the comedy team of Martin and Lewis. In addition to the team's popular nightclub work, they starred in a successful series of comedy films for Paramount Pictures. The act broke up ten years later. (via Wikipedia)

Jerry Lewis: Being Wacky Or Having A Stroke?

via bestweekever.tv ( 141 Days ago )
Jerry Lewis was up to his old shenanigans last night performing at the Laugh For Life concert, and while his tireless charity efforts continue to merit admiration, it’s getting harder and harder to tell when Jerry Lewis is being Jerry Lewis or if he’s actually having a stroke. JERRY LEWIS DIRECTING PLAY, STILL ALIVE

via uproxx.com ( 225 Days ago )
We complain a lot about how movies are all remakes and stunt casting and undisguised toy commercials, but all it takes is the occasional news out of Broadway to remind us that it could be worse.  That crappy movie you wasted $12 on will probably spawn a crappy play with singing and dancing and Bob Saget playing the lead for one week only and no special effects.  On that note, [...]

via cnn.com ( 267 Days ago )
It’s day seven of the Cannes Film Festival and the stars are starting to show up … finally! The first week of the festival was slow going in terms of star wattage, with only a few notables walking the red carpet (Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz, director Martin Scorsese, Emile Hirsch and — of course — Jerry Lewis, who is beloved by the French). But the celebrity [...]
