Wilson Brothers Reteaming for a Buddy Comedy About Reporters

via firstshowing.net ( 140 Days ago )
When everyone goes to see Drew Barrymore's Whip It (which everyone better do) later this year, one of the most memorable appearances will be that of Andrew Wilson, one of the three Wilson brothers who hasn't been in anything since Mike Judge's Idiocracy. MTV caught up with Andrew in Toronto to talk about Whip It but ended up getting an interesting scoop about another new project [...]

Where the hell have these two guys been, it's been years since we've heard from them, how I missed you guys! In this clip these two intellectual giants discuss a new movie called Extract by Mike Judge. A-huhu hu-hu, he said extract, huhu.

The Long-Awaited Return of “Beavis and Butthead”

via tsbmag.com ( 152 Days ago )
I like Mike Judge. Idiocracy was pretty good (even though it’s become a bit overrated, mostly due to the studios not releasing it correctly, giving it an “underdog” status that attracted a cult-like following), King of the Hill was decent enough, and Office Space is, obviously, a classic. His new movie Extract looks like a pretty standard pot comedy, something to maybe catch [...]

The Mike Judge Interview: Part 1: Extract as Semi-Autobiographical, The Film’s Epic Bong Scene, the Origination of His Ball Humor, and Issues with Realism in Modern Movies

via slashfilm.com ( 157 Days ago )
Renowned American writer/animator/director Mike Judge and hype often seem like complete strangers. As noted in the press, Judge’s friendly, calm demeanor is devoid of Hollywood pretension; his preference for living and working in Austin, Texas posits him by choice away from the center of the pop-cult radar. But when one surveys his vast body of work that, since the early [...]

WEEKEND PREVIEW: FATAL EXTRACTION

via uproxx.com ( 158 Days ago )
Opening this week: Extract Comes from Mike Judge, who says he wrote it on spec right after he finished Office Space. was supposed to catch a screening on Tuesday but then I screwed up and missed it.  It’s a good thing I’m not a cancer doctor. All About Steve I’m sure this will be good because it was tracking 0.0% on rottentomatoes up until a few hours ago (now [...]

Extract Review: As Soft-Spoken as its Creator, and Uncomfortably Hilarious

via slashfilm.com ( 158 Days ago )
Mike Judge might have the least cluttered directorial style in popular American filmmaking. He’s so low-key and soft-spoken that it is easy to mistake his style for none at all. He does the heavy lifting on the script page and in casting. By the time the cameras are rolling, if things have gone as well as they did for Office Space, he’s just got to make sure everyone [...]

Filed under: Entertainment, Tasty Vittles Required viewing from the week in movies. Mike Judge Taps Factory Angst for Flavorful Laughs in Extract

via wired.com ( 158 Days ago )
Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge has built a successful film career on his uncanny ability to draw humor from the most mundane topics. The brutally funny Office Space, Judge’s first live-action feature, tackled cubicle culture and became a cult classic ranking among the top comedies of the 1990s. His second feature, Idiocracy, ventured into a dumbed-down sci-fi future [...]

The brains behind Beavis and Butt-Head, Office Space and Idiocracy slows down and grows up a little for his new blue-collar comedy.
