TYLER HANSBROUGH

Andrew Tyler Hansbrough (born November 3, 1985 in Columbia, Missouri) is an American collegiate basketball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team. Hansbrough was a unanimous selection for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference All Conference Team, 2006 ACC Freshman of the Year, and 2008 ACC Conference Player of the Year. In 2008, Hansbrough swept all major individual honors in men's college basketball. For a North Carolina men's player to have his jersey retired, he must win at least one of six national player of the year awards: the Associated Press, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Sporting News, the Naismith Award and the Wooden Award, and wait until his class has graduated. Since Hansbrough has won all six, and is returning for his senior season, he will have his number 50 retired when he graduates from North Carolina in 2009. Hansbrough is the son of Tami Wheat and Dr. Gene Hansbrough and brother of former Mississippi State University and future Notre Dame player Ben Hansbrough. (via Wikipedia)

Of Larry Bird’s increasingly pale Pacers, The Indy Star’s Bob Kravitz asked yesterday, “how do you ignore a roster that includes Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Josh McRoberts, Travis Diener, Jeff Foster and now, first-round pick Tyler Hansbrough?”  Pretty easily if you’re picking contenders to represent the Eastern Conference in next June’s finals, [...]

If you’re amongst those aghast at Cole Hamels’ wooden delivery as a pitchman for ESPN The Magazine or New Era, in fairness, it must be said the Phillies starter comes off like Billy Fucking Mays compared to Pacers F Tyler Hansbrough in this web spot. Lucky for Indy, Hanbrough’s not being paid to do much public speaking.

Tyler Hansbrough's Summer League Debut a Good Start

via bleacherreport.com ( 217 Days ago )
Coming off the bench is a new sensation for Tyler Hansbrough. It's not one that he's had to experience since middle school. He did just that, though, in his first taste of professional action in Monday's Orlando Pro Summer League opener. The results seemed to justify Pacer president Larry Bird's controversial selection of Hansbrough at No. 13 in last month's NBA Draft. Hansbrough [...]
