Antonio Margarito

Antonio Margarito (born March 18, 1978) is a boxer from Torrance, California (though he now resides in Tijuana, Mexico) and is a former World Boxing Association Welterweight Champion. He is also a former International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization Welterweight champion.

Margarito fought Shane Mosley on January 24, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.  Margarito lost the fight and his WBA title by 9th round TKO by Shane Mosley. Controversy erupted from the fight after it was said that Margarito had an illegal plaster like substance in his glove prior to the fight.  As a result Margarito was forced to rewrap his hands.
