‘JOAQUIN P GOES CRAZY WHILE BUYING A CAPE’

via uproxx.com ( 105 Days ago )
This news item comes from Mike Walker’s National Enquirer column, which generally contains 99% made-up bullsh*t.   But what can I say, I couldn’t resist a headline like “Joaquin Phoenix goes crazy while buying a cape.” It’s no hoax, folks - Joaquin Phoenix is one nutty fruitcake! The looney-toony star, dressed like a homeless derelict and muttering to [...]

DVD: Review: DVDs In Brief: July 1, 2009

via avclub.com ( 146 Days ago )
Co-creators Danny McBride, Bill Best, and Jody Hill created another proud addition to HBO’s Hall Of Great Antiheroes in the form of Kenny “Fucking” Powers (McBride), an overweight, coke-snorting, booze-chugging major league burnout turned wildly inappropriate gym teacher in the profanely hilarious cult comedy Eastbound & Down (HBO). The six episodes in the show’s first season [...]

Cinematical Seven: Famous Hollywood Hoaxes

via cinematical.com ( 146 Days ago )
If you are the type of person who believes what you are told, then the release of James Gray's Two Lovers is probably your last chance to see Joaquin Phoenix 'the actor' before he takes the hip-hop world by storm -- but that's only if you believe what you've been told. For every person who is convinced that Mr. Phoenix has gone around the bend (and you can't blame them with footage [...]

Spin-ematical: New on DVD for 6/30

via cinematical.com ( 146 Days ago )
"Slim pickings" is the best way to describe this week's releases. Isn't anyone planning to stay home and watch DVDs? Two LoversJoaquin Phoenix can't decide between Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw. Directed by James Gray, this suffocating drama is dark, thoughtful, and "more true to real human existence than most of the dreck that comes out of Hollywood studios," wrote Kim Voynar. [...]

‘Dr. Bill Cosby’: The Joaquin Phoenix Of Comedy

via sportsbybrooks.com ( 210 Days ago )
I could barely watch Erin Andrews‘ ‘”exclusive” interview of Quan Cosby and “Dr. Bill Cosby” during ESPN’s draft coverage. (Cosby interview now has Erin considering career in hospice care?) Cosby, sadly, is now to comedy what Joaquin Phoenix is to rap. Or fences to NASCAR fans. On the bright side though, I hear Ms. Andrews is now considering [...]

Here's a classic clip from a Letterman show a couple of years ago, where Jay Thomas tells what could be one of the best talk show stories ever. (You listening Joaquin Phoenix?)

BAG IT, PAULUS, YOU’RE NOT PLAYING FOOTBALL

via uproxx.com ( 216 Days ago )
I’m getting rather GD tired (GD = God damn) of this Greg Paulus non-story story. This story is a Joaquin Phoenix-esque load–which reminds me a lot of this guy –and I can’t believe anybody thinks that arguably the most effeminate player in college basketball is going to wind up playing quarterback somewhere, [...]

Idol Gets Tarantino'd!

via perezhilton.com ( 224 Days ago )
Is American Idol really this hard up for talent? The guest celebrity mentor this week will be Quentin Tarantino. What, Joaquin Phoenix wasn't available? On Tuesday, Quentin will mentor the final seven singers as they perform different movie songs. And this will be Tarantino's second time on the show. He was actually a guest judge on the third season of AI. But the best part of this [...]
