Favre Interview Set In Motion Months Ago

via profootballtalk.com ( 239 Days ago )
Tonight’s live HBO interview with Brett Favre apparently isn’t an all-of-a-sudden development triggered by the retired quarterback contemplating playing for the Minnesota Vikings this fall. According to Joe Buck, who will be chatting with the former NFL Most Valuable Player tonight, the interview has been set up since April. “I called him in early April and locked him in,

Favre Will Talk To Joe Buck

via profootballtalk.com ( 240 Days ago )
Somewhere, the Botox is shooting out of Greta Van Susteren’s eyeballs. A year after getting the first exclusive sit-down with the then-soon-to-be-unretired-for-the-first-time Brett Favre, as he was angling to play for the “Minneapolis” Vikings, Van Susteren has been left in the cold. This time around, Brett will grant his first interview to Joe Buck, appearing on the

Props to Bob Costas (and Jim Kaat, Too)

via thebiglead.com ( 242 Days ago )
Bob Costas: Sure, he can be polarizing, but if anyone watched the Yankees-Red Sox game last night on the MLB Network, you had to love he and Jim Kaat relentlessly railing against how long MLB games were taking. Perhaps game length vexes he and Joe Buck greatly. Or, maybe he just really wanted to watch the NBA Finals. Either way, kudos, Bob Costas. Dustin Pedroia doesn’t need [...]

An Interview with Fox Announcer/HBO Host Joe Buck

via thebiglead.com ( 251 Days ago )
Joe Buck needs no introduction. He’s been FOX’s lead NFL announcer since 2002, and the network’s top MLB voice since 1996. (Stand-up comedy from a stand-up guy. Or something.) Such [...]

….with a series of commercials featuring Joe Buck. At least that the prognosis supplied by the Wall Street Journal’s Matthew Futterman, reporting earlier today that Major League Baseball’s Saturday afternoon telecasts on the Fox network have suffered a 4% rattings dip compared to the same period in 2008. Fox Sports Has Trouble Telling Black People Apart

via sportsbybrooks.com ( 262 Days ago )
After second-generation ballplayer John Mayberry, Jr. launched a home run in his second major league at-bat in today’s Phillies/Yankees game on Fox, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver lavished praise over John Mayberry, Sr. (a 14-year major leaguer) and expressed how proud he must be.  The camera lingered over a man in a World Baseball Classic Panama jersey and his two pre-teen children. (Huge [...]
