China's government is upset with the way television is "fueling more independent viewpoints" and has ordered "overly entertaining" shows off the air by next year.

Much like the claim that "Saturday Night Live" and "The Simpsons" aren't as good as they used to be, complaining about MTV's transition from round-the-clock music videos to "Jersey Shore" has gone from legitimate gripe to tired cliché.

You may recognize that fella up there underneath the black fashion sunglasses as the lead singer of Scorpions, and I thought that’s who it was as well until a Wisconsin teacher briefly stopped protesting to inform me that it is actually iconic Russian leader Joseph Stalin.

So, this is unsettling: a commercial for minced chicken from the Soviet Union, dated 1986 (video below).
