The Justice Department is officially looking for some way to read your email without your consent that's more politically palatable than just, uh, doing it.

When we last checked in with the terrible idea of merging AT&T and T-Mobile, AT&T had just withdrawn their merger bid from the FCC over Thanksgiving to make sure their damning, unfriendly, and generally "no effing way this is ever happening dude" report wasn't released.

We understand that the governments of the world are a little behind on this whole "internet" thing, what with trying to censor it and pass laws that allow people to shut down a site in the blink of an eye and all that, but you'd think that they would at least be aware that prosecuting over the Terms of Service on a website is, well, pointless.
