Over the winter break, you may recall that NBC made the decision to bring back "Fear Factor" for a limited run because the world had apparently gone long enough without seeing Joe Rogan on television (despite modest ratings, NBC nevertheless did not renew "Fear Factor" because there's only so much Joe Rogan the world can contain).

After breaking the story that NBC was planning to air an episode of "Fear Factor" that featured contestants chugging a glass of donkey semen, TMZ is now reporting that NBC has pulled the episode:But the NBC website no longer lists that episode as airing [tonight].

Whew.

"Fear Factor," the NBC reality competition that launched in 2001 as the network's answer to "Survivor," struck me as one of the first stages of our impending Idiocracy apocalypse, which has since been joined by two other horsemen of the apocalypse, the "Jersey Shore" cast and Olivia Munn.

In early June, NBC announced that it was reviving "Fear Factor" a decade after the reality pioneer's original debut, and now the network has announced that Joe Rogan will return as the show's host, presumably because there are only so many drugs one can try between podcasts and UFC events.

Five years after the last episode aired, NBC has decided to bring back reality pioneer "Fear Factor" after reruns on cable network Chiller produced unexpectedly high ratings.
