The first major shake-up in late night since Jay Leno's return to The Tonight Show was announced yesterday: Jimmy Kimmel Live is moving from midnight to 11:35, going head-to-head with Letterman's Late Show and Leno.

As much as I loathe Jay Leno -- I think he's basically the guy the characters in Idiocracy would look at and think, "We're headed toward an Idiocracy -- he's had a particular hold on both David Letterman and Conan O'Brien.

News out of CBS is that Craig Ferguson's "Late Late Show" is nearing a deal that would keep him on the show at least through 2014.

If you take Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert out of the equation, then the answer to the above question is probably yes.
