As we told you yesterday, over the weekend Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog responded to an allegation by Fox News that the Muppets were a liberal brainwashing tool for having portrayed an oil company exec in an unflattering light in their recent film.

You may recall early last month when a Fox News panel accused the Muppets of being a secret brainwashing tool used by liberals/socialists/communists to win the hearts and and minds of young Americans -- all because an oil company exec was portrayed as a villain in the recent Muppets movie.

The Muppets didn't exactly burn it up at the box office last month, and they failed to garner any Golden Globe nominations, but they had to be one of the bigger viral trends on the Internet this year.

An admission: the clip below of a bunch of Fox News blowhards charging that the Muppets are part of a secret left-wing plot to indoctrinate children began floating around the web yesterday, but I did everything in my power to ignore it, because frankly it depressed the hell out of me.
