FOX PITS ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ AGAINST ‘LOST’

FOX is moving the “American Idol” juggernaut from 8:00 to 9:00 on Wednesdays — bad news for ABC’s “LOST,” which has been losing viewers with every episode this season.

Fox is shaking up Wednesday night by swapping reality hit “American Idol” and freshman procedural “Lie to Me.” Once the singing competition moves into the finals March 11, Fox will pivot “Idol” to 9 p.m., turning its Death Star against ABC’s “Lost” for the rest of season…

Though “Idol” and “Lost” tend to have different audiences, last week Fox aired a two-hour “Idol” that stretched into the 9 p.m. hour and seemed to take a little steam out of the mystery thriller.

I think a better solution would be to just combine the shows.  Take all the American Idol contestants, put them on a plane, and crash-land it on a remote island in the Pacific.  Now, realistically, there might not be any survivors from such a crash, but I think it’s a chance we have to take.
