Fox hasn’t canceled midseason crime drama “Past Life” (yet), but they did reduce the number of episodes to seven, including the pilot. Here’s the official statement from Fox:
Due to the return of AMERICAN IDOL, 24 and our other midseason programming in January, as well as the back order of GLEE, we have a wealth of material for midseason and can only accommodate seven episodes of PAST LIFE on our schedule.
I haven’t seen a cut happen that fast since the time I job-shadowed a mohel. Wackity schmackity doo!
I was going to embed the trailer for the show, but it’s boring and seems to give away entire story arc, including the ending, so here’s a video of a frog riding a motorcycle instead:

out of sheer curiosity, i went to check out the embedded trailer
and jesus christ, its just about the worst thing i’ve ever seen. i’m not even talking about the quality of writing or the acting (it does look cheesy, but fuck me, how many shows in the top 10 viewerships do too)
but the preview itself… literally detail the entire case
- boy has traumatic flashbacks of drowning and dogs
- boy runs away, found in ladies washroom (omg, he was a GIRL)
- cops(??) link boy to missing sisters case from month before he was born
- boy remembers name of the boat he was taken on
- gruff fisherman remembers boat, also remembers that the driver still has a girl with me (omg, is the other sister still alive??)
- well why stop now? lets just show the cops arresting the killer and finding the girl safe. who needs suspense, right guys?
- and since i need some closure from this 3 minute contained episode, lets show a nice hug of the boy letting go and moving on, as well as the skeptical cop admitting that now he believes in what they do.
i seriously want to punch the person who edited this in the throat.
