Last night’s episode of “Castle” — the second half of a two-part cliffhanger — marked a ratings high for the ABC crime series, winning its time slot in part because of the “Dancing with the Stars” lead-in. That led to today’s news that “Castle” has been renewed for a third season.
I’m glad to see this show doing well; in the last few months I’ve gone from being mostly unaware of its existence to watching it more and more often. It’s a cop drama that actually has a sense of humor and some romantic tension, something that’s largely fallen to the wayside in networks’ urge to churn out more procedurals that follow the “Law & Order” and “CSI” models.
Oh yeah, and there’s this new TV spot, which sexes up Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) a lot more than she usually gets on the show. I approve. How come attractive detectives never wear heels and little red dresses to work more often? Actually, that goes for ALL you ladies. Would it kill you to sacrifice some comfort for my visual pleasure every day?

Yeah, all you ladies walking around the Uproxx office should sex it up a bit.
Wait, really? That’s a shame…
Hey, Watch Castle
No.
Fair enough, Enrico. That headline was the result of me not having a real headline at my fingertips.
It’s not a must-watch show, but it’s the sort of thing I’d like to watch with my girlfriend if I had a girlfriend.
I’d like to watch it with your girlfriend, too.
Stana Katic sounds like a German board game.
The Show is genuinely good if you are a fan of Nathan Fillion. Even if you’re not a fan of his, you have to like him in this show. He has impeccable timing with his comedic lines, which makes some of the not-so-funny jokes, actually funny.

Sergeant Yates from South Park is glad to accommodate.

Castle got renewed for a 3rd season.
Curious for your what’s on tonight, besides Justified I have nothing to watch.
These last two episodes were outstanding.
I was already a fan of the show, but that was some fun/exciting story telling above and beyond the good stuff they usually present.
I won’t watch this just to spite Whedon fans on the internet who I have never met.
Castle is the first shoe to get the boot when I need DVR space to record something that takes up a lot of room like Tarzeena: Jiggle in the Jungle… I mean documentaries about science or stuff. But I’ve found it enjoyable enough.
um yeah, show not shoe.
/shoes self out
We’ll start wearing a red dress and heels everyday if you start wearing Don Draper suits and fedoras. Fair’s fair.
I couldn’t stand to watch it at first when she had that awful hair but Fillion pulled me in. It’s a pretty silly show, kind of murder she wrote but I’d watch him in anything.
I think they wasted Stana Katic in Quantum of Solace. Should would have been a perfect Bond villianess. I mean, tall, leggy, brunette, Russian-looking and ridiculously hot despite being in her 30s? Fucking Quantum of Solace. You were terrible. Fucking terrible.
not feeling the tension between these two, really not. the detective feels sexless(not as bad as the Bones girl, but close), and the writer a little too boyish. ‘at least it’s not csi/law and order cloned’ isn’t the best endorsement, but it’ll do.
stana katic played a really sexy french girl in one of those cheesy The Librarian movies….
“I came here on a boat.
Now I own a boat.”
This is a good show.
Its a cop show that doesnt take itself too seriously.
With this promo, you could say….
they’re turning up the Heat.
YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!
