Last week, the Gay & Lesbian Aliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) denounced CBS’s lack of gay characters, giving the network a failing grade in its annual survey of gay-friendly programming. Responding to the report, Nina Tassler, CBS’s entertainment president, announced that CBS will add gay characters to three of its shows.
Addressing reporters at the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour, Tassler said a gay character will be added to new comedy “$#*! My Dad Says,” returning comedy “Rules of Engagement” and legal drama “The Good Wife.”
“We’re disappointed in our track record so far,” Tassler said. “We’re going to do it. We’re not happy with ourselves.” [The Live Feed]
In a world where people speak open and honestly, she then added, “Hopefully that’s the right amount of gay. We want it to be just gay enough to avoid bad press from GLAAD, but not so gay as to scare off our old, conservative viewers.”

It would be nice touch if at least one of the new gays has AIDS. There was a time when AIDS was synonymous with gays but then the African orphans muscled in on the act sometime in the 90s and television has lazily portrayed gays as happy, successful and good looking ever since; rather than show them as the repulsive, disease ridden abominations that they truly are. Amen.

CBS should not be adding gay characters to programs because GLAAD requests it. The programs’ producers should be adding gay characters because they make it possible TO TELL MORE-INTERESTING STORIES.
How about people start ignoring these dumbass special interest groups altogether. GLADD, PETA, etc can go suck a vegetarian cock together and the rest of the world would be a much happier place without them hectoring society.
