Now that Joaquin Phoenix is done with his bearded rapping ruse for the faux docu-turd I’m Still Here, he returned to Letterman for the first time since Awkwardgate (watch that interview here).
In the video below, Letterman wrestles an apology from Phoenix for being such a d-ckhead during his February ’09 appearance, but not before Phoenix explains his fascination with reality television and his desire to make a statement about celebrity and our willingness to accept reality TV as “real,” blah blah blah. It’s pretty good, especially because Letterman never pulls any punches. If you were ever interested in Phoenix’s stunt, then this is worth your time. If not, move along. I’ll have something about cute kitties in another hour or so.
UPDATE: Official video from CBS is up, so it won’t be taken down again.

I like kitties.
The wrong Phoenix OD’d
already taken down
I took a film class in college, and my professor had directed Joaquin’s sister in a small indie movie. She said one day the whole Phoenix family came to the said. They proceeded to all kiss each other uncomfortably long and passionately on the mouth for most of the day.
In conclusion, I too like kitties.
*came to the set
An hour? But I want those cute kitties now!
/also wants a flash-fried buffalo
Wow. A shitty actor talking about how great reality TV is? What gripping television!
I heart Letterman when he’s being a dick. Killed it.
I’ve seen “I’m Still Here” and it’s a genuinely entertaining film.
LOL. Finish Him. (teeth gap chomp)
Fatality.
I walked out of it last night, the second you realize that P-Shiddy is in on the joke there is no point. Ben Stiller was obviously in on it too. The question becomes who exactly is the joke on and what is the the point if everyone is in on the gag except for a few douchebags who go to these retarded clubs?
What did you find entertaining about it Nyegnav?
